This is version 2 of the Front Store brand agreement. By accepting it during onboarding you agree to these terms for sales made through Front Store.
1. Who the seller is
In every sale you are the seller, and the buyer contracts with you. Creators on Front Store send buyers to your products; when a buyer is ready to pay, Front Store hands them to your own Shopify checkout with their bag filled in. The buyer pays you there, and the order is your own Shopify order. Front Store never takes or holds the buyer's money and does not buy from you.
2. Disclosure
Your trading identity (name, geographical address and business email) appears on product pages and in the bag, and your own checkout and order emails carry it after that. Front Store does not mask you as the seller.
3. Fees and commission
You set the creator commission. Front Store charges the fee in the fee schedule, which is 5% today. Both are worked out on the price of the items, excluding tax and delivery and after any discount on them, and only on orders that come through a creator's link on Front Store. There is no subscription and no charge for installing the app. Front Store pays creators their commission out of what you pay us. The fee schedule has a worked example.
Front Store may change its fee by telling you by email and in your Front Store console at least 30 days before the change applies. A changed fee applies to orders placed on your checkout at or after the time it takes effect; an order placed before then keeps the fee in force when it was placed.
4. Fulfilment, returns and refunds
You fulfil orders and handle returns and refunds in your own Shopify, under your own returns policy, and you fund every refund to the buyer. Commission and Front Store's fee are billed only once an order has shipped, so anything cancelled or refunded before it ships costs you nothing. If you refund some of an item's units after it has shipped, the commission and fee on those units come off your Shopify bill. If you refund every unit of an item after it has shipped, the commission and fee on that item stand and are billed in full. That counts every refund on the item, whenever you made it: if you refund the rest of an item after an earlier refund on it, anything credited for the earlier refund is billed again.
5. Billing
When an order that came through Front Store ships, Front Store adds the commission and its fee on that order to your Shopify bill through Shopify's app billing, and Shopify collects them with the rest of your Shopify bill. Twice a month Front Store shows you a statement in your console: a record of what was added to your Shopify bill in that period, minus any refund credits. You do not pay the statement separately. Front Store does not hold a reserve and never debits your bank account. Amounts added to your Shopify bill stay payable if you stop using Front Store.
6. Data sharing
Front Store does not ask Shopify for your buyers' names, addresses, email addresses or phone numbers. Buyers give those to you on your own Shopify checkout. For orders that came through a creator's link, Front Store reads the items, amounts, discounts, tax, refunds and whether the order shipped, to credit the creator and bill your commission. The data-sharing terms spell this out.
7. Your product photos and videos
While the photo-and-video permission in your Front Store settings is on, you allow creators on Front Store, including clippers, to use the product images and videos from your Shopify store in their own posts and clips promoting your products on Front Store. Turning it off stops new use and closes any offer to clippers.
8. Product responsibility
You remain responsible for product information, safety, labelling and claims, and for any category listing conditions that apply to your goods (including cosmetics and supplements).
9. Creators you meet through Front Store
For 12 months after you first receive a sale through a creator on Front Store, you must not hire, pay or sell through that creator other than through Front Store, unless Front Store agrees in writing. This covers sponsorships, paid or gifted posts, affiliate and commission deals, discount codes and resale arrangements, whether you deal with the creator yourself or through an agency, affiliate network or anyone else acting for you. A clipper is a creator for this section. It does not cover a creator you can show you were already working with before that first sale.
You must not use a storefront, a post or an order to identify or contact a creator so that you can deal with them outside Front Store, and you must not ask a creator to move a deal off Front Store.
If you break this section, you must pay Front Store a fee equal to the commission and Front Store's fee that would have been due had those sales or that work gone through Front Store, at the rates you had set on Front Store at the time. Front Store may also restrict or end your account.
Subject to legal review.
10. Changes
Material changes to these terms ship as a new version. You must accept the new version before activation continues, and a brand that is already selling is asked to accept it from the Front Store console. A change to Front Store's fee under section 3 is not a new version. Existing orders keep the terms that applied when they were placed.
